Challenge

Showcase the iconic baseball tee from a fresh, new angle; highlight the nuanced beauty of a wardrobe basic. Back up the brand’s premium price point by communicating their commitment to sustainability and ethical production in Los Angeles.

Approach

Through brand clarity exercises, we found that the unique, dreamlike feel of TIAY’s baseball tees was rooted in the German founder’s love for her time in the States in the early 90’s. To mirror this sense of sweet nostalgia on the website, we designed the site in a staggered layout – a collage of imagery shot on film next to excerpts from the founder’s own poetry. All imagery was shot on the streets of Los Angeles, and the copy highlights the brand’s commitment to supporting local conscious production in L.A.
